It’s a question I receive regularly — and every time, it brings a small inner smile.
That smile takes me back to my years working as a consultant for an international company, travelling and living abroad, and communicating in English on a daily basis. English has long been a natural part of my professional life. Although the language of business is different from the language of therapy, my experience in international environments has made it feel completely natural to offer couples therapy in English.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with many international and expat couples who feel more comfortable expressing themselves in English — especially when conversations become emotional or deeply personal. Being able to speak freely, without searching for words, often creates more safety, clarity, and connection within the session.
I’ve lost count of the number of couples therapy sessions I’ve conducted in English so far, and judging by that familiar inner smile, I look forward to many more. If you’re looking for couples therapy in English in the Netherlands, you’re very welcome.
